Cake Classes in Qatar!

This past weekend I had the lovely opportunity to travel all the way to Doha, Qatar and teach cake classes!  It was my first international class and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  I was hosted by The Baking Studio and taught two days of the floral buttercream cake and one day of the hammered metal cake with wafer paper flowers.  The students were amazingly talented and creative as you can see from the results of their cakes!  I had my youngest students ever, 12 and 15 year old sisters, and they were so great.  Cake is really for all ages and I loved seeing how everyone's personal style, color choices and arrangements reflected their unique creativity.  Thank you to all the students that attended, it was great meeting you all and you should be very proud of the cakes you created!  Also, special thanks to Safinaz and her team at The Baking Studio.  Your hospitality was overwhelming and these classes were only possible because of all the preparation and hard work you put in.

CLASSES: Early Registration EXTENDED!

Early Registration EXTENDED!  In light of the holiday weekend, I am extending our early registration pricing for both upcoming classes until next Tues. April 7th.   You're going to want to sign up because these classes are both packed with techniques!!  See you there!

Easter Cupcakes

We're getting ready for Easter with these super cute bunny and egg cupcakes.  The flowers and bunny are made of fondant and its tail is covered in clear sprinkles.  The grass is pipped buttercream and the eggs are just chocolate covered milk candies.  I like that they have a little speckle to them.  Try making these for your Easter brunch guests!

Spring Color Mix

Just in!  Here is the spring collection of fondant mixes we created for Satin Ice.  The past few months we've been mixing up custom colors using Satin Ice's pre-colored fondant.  The spring collection is my favorite batch so far because they are so happy and bright.  Hope this inspires you to create colorful and fun cake decorations for Easter or a spring soiree!

Buttercream Cake Classes!

I'm happy to announce two new buttercream flower classes!!!  I'm so excited to share with you my techniques for piping beautiful, detailed and delicious flowers to adorn your cakes and cupcakes.  Signups are taking place now and a special early registration price for both classes are in effect from today until end of day on April 1st.  Enroll on our class page or shop page.  See you there!!

Colored Dots

I love all the colors that made up this Damien Hirst inspired wedding cake that was delivered to the Gramercy Park Hotel this past weekend.  Structured rows of colorful dots made up this modern and clean cake design!

Succulent Cupcake Garden

I'm not one to grow plants or flowers in my home, but when it comes to edible plants like these buttercream succulent cupcakes, I can't resist!  I love how succulents are so varied in color and texture.  Some are prickly looking while other are soft and curvy, all beautiful in their design.  Truly one of my favorites!
